Literacy Champions play an important role in bringing New Mexico’s Read-at-Home initiative to life in their schools. This interactive kick-off session will prepare Literacy Champions to confidently lead implementation, support educators, and help ensure families understand and can successfully use the literacy resources provided through NMPED.

Participants will learn about SB 37 and NMPED’s supportive rollout plan for getting Read-at-Home materials into the hands of students and families. The session will introduce the Just Right Reader resources purchased by NMPED and provide guidance for using the materials with students before they are sent home, helping create a strong connection between school-based learning and reading practice at home.

With over 20 years in education, Terri has engaged a wide range of learners from the elementary classroom to the professional development of instructional leaders. Through research and expert guidance, she develops strategic and engaging experiences that ensure all users of Just Right Reader resources are able to effectively accelerate the reading achievement of all children.
